Do you supply posts? No, they are pretty inexpensive to buy but extremely expensive to ship because of their size and weight. I can if you insist but, in general, no.
-
Do you paint the libraries? No, not a skill I possess. Heck of a carpenter, not even a subpar painter. Sorry! When you do it, please do use an exterior grade paint and not stain. Stains are made for pressure treated products and are just not good on these.
-
What do I use to paint/finish the libraryA good exterior paint is all that's required. Most paint manufacturers do not recommend any top or clear coats. I find paint holds up much better than stains. Stains are made specifically for pressure treated woods. For more information it's best to talk to your hardware store's paint experts.
-
Why does my cart show in Candian Dollars?I'm located in western Canada and my default currency is Canadian. Don't worry, even though you'll check out in CAD your bank/credit card company will convert it to your currency.
-
Is there an easy way to install my library?Yes! For those of us that don't have carpentry tools I can supply a mounting bracket. It's in the library options. All you'll need is a screwdriver or, preferably, a drill. I even send the screws!
-
I prefer shipping with carriers other than UPS or Purolator.Being that I'm in a rural location I only have three options for shipping (as of this time), UPS, Purolator, or CanadaPost. The first two are optimal. They have been very reliable over the years.
-
Why isn't my country showing in shipping?I'm so sorry about that. Please send me a message so I can check rates manually or see if I made an oopsie and didn't omitted it from the countries I ship to.
-
Do you build custom libraries? It depends on what you'd like done. I won't try to replicate homes or other buildings, it doesn't go well. For simple requests please hit me up. I'm happy to discuss it with you.
-
How are the libraries packaged for shipping. It took a while but I've finally got it as perfect as is available to me. Very very few libraries arrive with damage. Have a peek.
-
Do you actually build the libraries or are they mass produced somewhere else?I build each and every one of them to order. The video below is a sped up build of an Off Kilter Library. Depending on how busy I am I usually have them out within a few days which is most of the time. Busy times tend to be around the holidays.
-
Do you supply kits?I quit doing that because these are a bit more involved than most people think and they caused a lot of grief. If you have carpentry skills I do sell a digital pattern of the Flat Top Library for you to build for yourself. It's a great starting point and you can alter it any way you like. I'd call it an intermediate level project.
